When you visit the island of the winds, Mykonos, there are many places to see and things to do. Below you will find some of our suggestions for private tours of the island.
1. Mykonos and Delos private 6 hour tour
The tour will begin as soon as you will be picked up from your ship and will either walk or have a private transfer to the small port, from where the boats to Delos depart.
You will board a 30 minutes ride to the island of Delos. As soon as you get there your private tour guide will show you around the most important parts of the sacred ancient island.
After the tour and some free time for pictures, you will be returned to Mykonos, walk and explore the famous Mykonos chora (town). Mykonos has some very interesting shopping options, bars and restaurants of any short. You can dine at one of the fish taverns. You will find a wide selection of sea food and Mediterranean cuisine along with the view of the windmills.
Finally, you can either walk back to your ship or use a private transportation to take you there.
2. Mykonos Island private 6 hour tour
For those of you that don’t want to visit the island of Delos, this private tour will show you most of the highlights the island of Mykonos has to offer to its visitors.
You will be met by your tour director and private vehicle at the port where your ship will dock. You will then drive and visit the village of Agios Ioannis at the southwest of the island where you will enjoy a nice view of the island of Delos. There in the 80s "Shirley Valentine" was filmed. After a short stop for photographs you will continue with a 20 minute ride to the village of Ano Mera that is located at the center of the island.
Ano Mera is the second biggest village of the island and one of its highlights is the Monastery of Panagia Tourliani, dating back to the 16th century, that you will get the chance to visit. After the visit of the monastery you will be able to rest for a while and enjoy a snack and Greek coffee at a local taverna.
Afterwards you will visit the famous Kalafatis beach that is nearby. On the way there you will see villas and farms. Alternatively you may have a short stop for snacks and coffee there at a traditional coffeehouse.
Finally you will return to Mykonos Chora where you will enjoy a walking tour so that you will be presented the most important sights of Chora, like the windmills, Little Venice and the old port. At the end of the tour you can either be returned to your cruise ship or spend some time on your own in Chora. Your tour director will provide you with useful information so that you can dine, shop or explore more of Chora on your own before returning back to the ship on your own.
3. Mykonos Food private 5 hour tour
You will be met by your tour director at the port where your ship will dock and you will enjoy a two hour walking tour so that you will be presented the most important sights of Chora, like the windmills, Little Venice and the old port. Along the way you will visit a traditional pastry shop. There the owners treat their guests with samples of marzipan, caramelized dried nuts and fruits, as well as local Mastiha liqueur. You can also purchase from this shop anything that you like, either as a gift for your friends back home, or to enjoy it during the remaining of your cruise. Moreover, you will visit a local ice-cream shop, where they prepare the ice cream in a home made style from fresh ingredients.
Then you will meet your driver and vehicle and visit the village of Agios Ioannis at the southwest of the island where you will enjoy a nice view of the island of Delos. After this tasty experience, and before leaving, you will also be offered traditional Greek coffee (or if you prefer espresso or cappuccino).
At the end of the tour you will board your vehicle and drive back to the port where you will be dropped off.
